- Lead front-end architecture: Design and implement modular, performant UI systems using React and Fluent UI. - Own critical user flows: Translate complex system capabilities into intuitive, elegant user interactions and responsive layouts. - Engineer for performance and scale: Optimize UI rendering, manage application state effectively, and ensure high responsiveness across large data sets and dynamic views. - Set quality standards: Establish and uphold code quality, accessibility, and usability guidelines for the front-end codebase. - Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with backend, systems, and platform engineers to integrate UI with AI and data infrastructure. - Mentor and lead by example: Provide technical direction and mentorship to other engineers, fostering a strong front-end culture Qualifications (Text Only)
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field AND 6+ years of experience building production-grade front-end systems. - Expert-level proficiency in React and JavaScript/TypeScript. - Hands-on experience building component libraries or contributing to design systems (e.g., Fluent UI, Material UI, or similar). - Strong command of accessibility (a11y), responsiveness, and front-end performance best practices. - Proven ability to deliver stable and scalable UIs in fast-paced product environments. Preferred Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in UI/UX engineering or front-end systems design. - Experience building user interfaces for developer tools, AI/ML platforms, or large-scale enterprise applications. - Familiarity with distributed systems concepts, data-intensive workflows, or AI/LLM-powered user experiences. - Ability to reason about complex application state and asynchronous workflows. - Experience with TypeScript at scale and large front-end monorepos Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
