POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Pioneering Evolution is seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to support the development of a secure federal software platform. This position requires a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and mission-driven interfaces in a government environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the UI/UX Lead, Business Analyst, and development teams to craft intuitive and compliant user experiences that promote audit readiness and enhance data traceability. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Develop wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate and visualize design concepts.

  • Incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously refine designs and optimize usability.

  • Ensure accessibility compliance by adhering to Section 508 and WCAG standards across all design artifacts.

  • Collaborate with frontend developers to guide the implementation of accurate and consistent user interfaces.

  • Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the entire development lifecycle.

  • Participate in user testing efforts and synthesize findings into actionable design improvements.

  • Support mission-critical interfaces that prioritize task efficiency, traceability, and user satisfaction.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, including wireframing, prototyping, and iterative user testing.

  • Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.

  • Deep understanding of accessibility requirements and design best practices.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.

  • Must be available to work full-time and on-site in the Washington D.C. metro area.

  • U.S. Citizenship and active Secret Clearance are required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience designing secure software platforms for federal government agencies.

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and collaborative team environments.

  • Understanding of frontend development and component-based UI frameworks (e.g., Angular).
